KIDS IN PROGRAM

We believe a solid educational foundation is important for long-term success. That’s why Hilltop kids enter our elementary program, McCarver Scholars, the summer before 2nd grade. The goal for elementary programming is to make sure every scholar is reading at grade level and is prepared for middle school.

After-School Learning

McCarver Scholars attend after-school program four days a week from September through May. Each day, our scholars come together to work on one-on-one and in groups on academics such as reading, writing, math, and science. Scholars also work on character strengths and mindsets that will help them develop a love of learning and be prepared to handle set-backs. Scholars also participate in enrichment activities like sports, graffiti art, blogging and music. To help Scholars grow their awareness of community and culture, they go on field trips throughout the year to places like museums.

“Peace has made a huge impact on my family and I. Knowing that my daughter is safe and getting the academic support after-school she needs is huge.” -McCarver Scholars parent
