McCarver Scholars
Malaki is a 4th grade Hilltop Scholar attending McCarver Elementary School. He is advanced in his academics as students and teachers often express that he is smarter than a fifth grader. He is very thankful for his Academic Coach who guides him through his social emotional learning, school subjects, and enrichment engagements.
Ja’Queliah, 4th Grade
McCarver Scholars
Ja’Queliah is a 1st year Hilltop Scholar with a special artistic gift of drawing. She and her family were born and raised in the Hilltop Community and have connected to Peace Community Center, claiming it as their “village”. Ja’Queliah’s positive energy enlightens the room wherever she goes and she is proud to be a scholar with great grades and a great Academic Coach.
Aiyana, 7th Grade
Bobcat Scholars
Aiyana is a 7th grade scholar attending Hilltop Heritage Middle School. As a 2nd year Hilltop Scholar, she is looking forward to her pathway into high school and college. She hopes to gain leadership skills by staying involved in the enrichment programs at Peace Community Center.
Andrea, University of Washington Tacoma
Alumna & Hilltop Scholars Graduate
Andrea is a first generation student and a first generation immigrant. Today at 25 years old, she stands strong in her views about mental health and wellness. She attends University of Washington, Tacoma studying to major in Psychology. She is unashamed of her story and unapologetically herself because of a memorable summer at Peace Community Center that changed her life.
