We give youth educational tools to open minds and access college
Welcome to the Peace Pathway
Peace Community Center offers a pathway model of holistic services that supports students in grades 2-12, college and career with academic and social-emotional resources, enrichments and development. In partnership with Tacoma Public Schools and students’ families, Peace Community Center lives out its mission through youth development and education focused programming. We focus on building relationships that support students to be successful from elementary school through high school graduation to college and sustainable careers. Our goal is for students to graduate from high school and obtain a post-secondary degree that fits their career goals. We believe that with this educational background our students will be well-positioned to obtain careers with the skills, experience and values that actively contribute to more just and vibrant communities, especially in the Hilltop of Tacoma.
Elementary: McCarver Scholars
McCarver Elementary School | Grades 2-5
We believe that investing in strong foundations is the key to our students’ long-term success. That’s why scholars begin their journey on the Peace Pathway the summer before second grade.
Middle School: Bobcat Scholars
Hilltop Heritage Middle School | Grades 6-8
When students enter our middle school program, they officially become Hilltop Scholars. Peace’s middle school scholars begin focusing on preparation for high school.
High School: Hilltop Scholars
Peace Community Center | Grades 9-12
Hilltop Scholars at the high school level focus on academic rigor and growth through 1:1 mentoring with academic coaches, leadership development, and STEAM-centric enrichments.
College & Career
College & Career marks our Scholars’ graduation from the Peace Pathway, but the Peace team makes sure students feel supported and connected to us in their lives after high school.
